Background
The modern city development project located in Hadsaifong and Xaysetha districts in Vientiane is lying in the strategic plan
The development of Vientiane from 2015 to 2030 has been allocated empty land areas, seeing that this area is the highest area in the capital, a flood-free area. Compared to the current capital city, it is a low area, adjacent to the banks of the river and has been built since 1560 until now for more than 460 years and there is partial flooding every year.
The purpose of the project
The main objective of the project is to develop smart City, the capital of 450 year an area of 2,568 hectares located in 2 districts and 10 villages, to become a modern city, with economic-social integration between disctricts, efficient use of resources and development of the quality of life of the people to be equal to other countries.
- Why build a Smart City
• For comprehensive development such as industry, housing, agriculture, business administration, commerce and residences, embassies, educational areas, health, forestry, services and highways, sports and tourism, ASEAN cities, condominiums, allotment villages and parks.
• Create an economic-social link between countries to attract domestic and foreign investment. - • Develop vacant land to be useful by developing it into a modern economic district, colorful and with comprehensive basic elements.
• Generate revenue for the government in the form of taxes, taxes and other fees.
• Create jobs for the people, as well as a place to certify workers that will increase in the future.
The concept of Smart City
• Create an economic-social connection between countries by using technology in the management of the economic system.
• Use resources efficiently and environmentally friendly.
• Develop urban management system with technology, create transparency, audit, access to administrative and economic information sources.
• Develop quality facilities and international standards, build a modern telecommunication system and cyber protection system according to international standards.
• Creating the quality of life of the people to be equal to other developed countries.
