Laos is preparing to conduct a feasibility study for the development of a new industrial park in Vientiane Capital, with the aim of attracting foreign investment and supporting future industrial and economic development.
The proposed project, known as the Vientiane-Lidu Industrial Park, is planned to be located in Pakngum District, Vientiane Capital. The proposed industrial park would cover approximately 307 hectares across four villages.
According to the current plan, the feasibility study is expected to take approximately two years. The project is targeting around US$1 billion in investment and is expected to attract more than 90 companies and businesses once developed. It is also projected to create approximately 10,000 employment opportunities.
The development of a new industrial park could create additional demand for a range of commercial and residential properties in Pakngum and surrounding areas.
As businesses and workers move into the area, potential demand may increase for industrial land, factories, warehouses, commercial buildings, offices, rental houses, apartments, and other supporting services.
For property owners and investors, the proposed industrial park is therefore an area worth monitoring as Vientiane’s industrial and commercial development expands beyond the central districts.
However, as the project is currently at the feasibility-study stage, the final development plan, investment timeline, infrastructure, industrial sectors, and other details may be subject to further approval and change.
RentsBuy Property will continue to follow developments related to the Vientiane-Lidu Industrial Park and other major investment and infrastructure projects in Laos.
