The tourism sector in Champassak province is experiencing a boost with the introduction of charter flights by Pakse Korea Sole Co., Ltd.
These flights, transporting tourists from the Republic of Korea to the region, commenced on Saturday afternoon with the first flight departing from Incheon International Airport and arriving at Pakxe International Airport.
Flight RF 563, managed by Aero K Airline, brought 180 passengers, including a mix of golfers and other tourists, on a five-hour journey. These charter flights will run until March 19, 2025, operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flights are scheduled to leave Seoul at 10:35 am local time and arrive in Pakxe at 1:35 pm.
A special ceremony was held at Pakxe International Airport at 2:30 pm on Saturday to mark the inaugural flight. Key attendees included Sounlin Phetthani, the Deputy Director of the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism, along with representatives from the provincial Department of Public Works and Transport and local travel companies.
Given the rising interest of Korean tourists in visiting Laos, Pakse Korea Sole Co., Ltd. is contemplating an extension of the flight schedule from May through the end of 2025.
