Investment Service Officer

Location: [Vientiane, Laos]

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Investment Manager / Head of Investment Services

Job Summary:

The Investment Service Officer is responsible for assisting clients in obtaining investment permissions, company registration, visa extensions, open corporate bank account, work permits, and other necessary legal documents for doing business in Laos. This role involves working closely with government agencies, investors, and business owners to ensure smooth and compliant investment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investment & Business Setup Support

  • Assist clients in obtaining investment approvals and business licenses from relevant government authorities.
  • Guide investors through the company registration process, ensuring compliance with Lao laws and regulations.
  • Provide support in acquiring investment incentives and tax benefits for eligible businesses.

2. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that all investment-related activities comply with Lao PDR’s laws and policies.
  • Assist clients in preparing and submitting necessary documents for investment and business operations.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in investment regulations and inform clients accordingly.

3. Visa & Work Permit Services

  • Assist foreign investors and expatriates in obtaining business visas, visa extensions, and work permits.
  • Work with government agencies, such as the Department of Immigration and the Ministry of Labor, to facilitate approvals.
  • Provide guidance on residence permits and other necessary legal documentation for foreign professionals.

4. Business Consulting & Advisory Services

  • Offer consulting services on business setup, investment opportunities, and operational procedures in Laos.
  • Advise clients on the best corporate structure and legal entity for their investment.
  • Assist businesses in meeting local compliance requirements and tax obligations.

5. Networking & Liaison with Government Agencies

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investment authorities, business registration offices, and relevant ministries.
  • Represent clients in meetings with government officials to facilitate faster processing of permits and approvals.
  • Organize investment workshops and networking events to support foreign investors.

6. Administrative & Reporting Tasks

  • Prepare investment proposals, business registration documents, and compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of client applications and approvals.
  • Provide regular updates to management on investment processing timelines and challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in investment consulting, business registration, or government liaison is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Lao investment laws, company registration procedures, and work permit regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills in Lao and English (Chinese or other languages is a plus).
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management software.
