There are no clear zones for apartment or house rental in Vientiane. They are spread around Vientiane, mixed with Lao community. Most of expats are selecting to live close to their children's shool, offices and facilities, particularly Vientiane International School and Sengdara Fitness Center. Sorting by districts where foreigns like to live the most are Sisattanak, and Saysettha.

Rental Payment in advance

Paying the rental in Lao PDR is unlike in other countries. Most of expatriates get used to the system in their respective home countries and it is not excited but they have to accept this practical rule. Majority of the houseowners need the rental payment one year in advance, negotiable to six months, depending on how flexible of the landlords.

For the apartment, shorter term payment is accepted such as monthly payment. However, most of the owners are interested in longer term payment.

Security Deposit

The security deposit is uncommon in Laos. However, only some house owners require the refundable deposit, equaling the one month rental value. In case the, the tenant leaves unpaid bills or broken appliances, the bond will be spent and returning the remaining balance to the tenant. This applies to house and apartment rental.

Furniture Provided

As you know that for the serviced apartment is fully furnished. You walk in with your suitcase to live in. For the house, most of houses are furnished with basic furniture such as bed, mattress, dinning table and etc. Also, the fridge, TV set, water dispenser and etc are usually provided.
